Thanksgiving Thoughts

This week we celebrate Thanksgiving in the United States, and I have a lot of things to be thankful for! Here’s a short list:

1. I have a great wife who puts up with all my idiosyncrasies, not to mention my busy schedule and all the traveling I have to do.

2. I have a great staff who all do a great job and do it with integrity.

3. I’m very grateful for the work we have, particularly at this time of uncertainty for so many people who are in the music business.

4. I’m grateful that I get to do what I love to do.

5. I am thankful for all the people who support what I do: managers, labels, artists, producers, worship leaders, college teachers, students (both high school and college), and more.

6. There are many artists who want to grow, and who believe in us at Tom Jackson Productions, recognizing that we are here to help them reach their goals and be successful – they read our blogs, join us Backstage, attend workshops, hire us to help with their shows, and more, and for this I am truly thankful!

7. I am thankful for the people around the world in so many countries who have warmly welcomed me to come and teach! Whether it’s been in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Asia, or North America, I have met many wonderful people in the music industry. And I give a special shout out to you Canadians who have had me come back time and time again! (I think I’ve been to more places in Canada than most Canadians.) I’ll enjoy seeing many of you at my Toronto Workshop on Sunday, December 4th!

8. I’m especially grateful for the grace God shows me, and for him allowing me to pursue my dreams!

I’d love to hear about the things YOU are most grateful for, so leave your comments below… and have a happy Thanksgiving. And even though it may not be “Thanksgiving Day” where you are, I hope you have a great (and a grateful) week!

I am thankful for these blogs that have provided ample fodder for thought, discussion, and application.
I am also thankful for the grace that enables me to be thankful in the day to day. Shalom.
